“Generations” at the heart of the eighth Smart Life Festival: numerous Unimore events in the pro-
gramme

From 28 September to 1 October 2023, Modena will be the stage for the eighth edition of the Smart Life
Festival, an event dedicated to the intersection of digital culture and contemporary social challenges.
Founded in 2016 by a consortium of public and private partners, the festival has grown year after year,
becoming a discussion platform and innovation hub connecting start-ups, academia and entrepreneurial
actors, and citizens. Besides lectures and workshops, the festival also offers interactive art exhibitions, film
screenings and live performances, all with a focus on the digital future. Over the years, the festival has
attracted speakers of international calibre and covered topics such as cybersecurity, blockchain, artificial
intelligence and sustainable urbanism. Each edition has a central theme and the 2023 edition is dedicated
to the theme “Generations”, a topic that examines how different age groups interact with rapid technological
