Unimore in the front line for sustainable development
The eighth edition of the Sustainable Development Festival took place throughout Italy, with events from 7
to 23 May, for 17 days, as many as the Sustainable Development Goals. Promoted by the Italian Alliance
for Sustainable Development, the Festival is the largest Italian initiative to raise awareness and involve the
whole of civil society on the issues of economic, social and environmental sustainability. The uniqueness
of the Festival has been internationally recognised. The Festival consists of events with the aim of pursu-
ing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, which is a member of the RUS, the Network of Universities for
Sustainable Development, once again took part in the Festival this year, organising through the “unimoreso-
stenibile” group various initiatives open to all, confirming the University’s sensitivity and commitment to the
realisation of research and education projects with important environmental, economic and social sustain-
ability content. The next opportunity to meet and learn more will be at the next Research Night, on Friday 28
September 2024, where we plan to create a large section dedicated to sustainability.
