Festival of Sustainable Development 2024: Unimore’s contribution

Unimore proposed several initiatives as part of the Festival of Sustainable Development 2024 with meet-
ings at the Geophysical Observatory and the Department of Law in Modena and at the Technopole in Reggio
Emilia. Unimore is a member of the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development and is oriented in
all its institutional activities towards the objectives of the UN 2030 Agenda. The initiatives carried out at the
Department of Law, in collaboration with the C.R.I.D. and the C.R.I.S.A., were oriented towards the theme
‘An inclusive and sustainable equitable society’ with a focus on issues such as: inclusion, training, decent
work and the promotion of gender equality. The Geophysical Observatory featured activities and experiments
promoted by the Enzo Ferrari Engineering and Life Sciences Departments that addressed the health of
marine ecosystems, the valorisation of shellfish waste, air quality in Modena and meteorology. Meetings with
exhibition stands on the research activities of Unimore’s sustainability-themed departments and a theatre
performance were organised at the Technopole in Reggio Emilia.
