The museums of the University system and the programmes for schools

The university museums belonging to the University’s Museum System and Botanical Garden are an invalu-
able heritage not only of the university but of the entire region. Although some venues are undergoing
renovation, activities towards schools and beyond have also been proposed for the entire 2022/23 school
year. Many workshop activities concerning the museum collections are part of the School-to-City Routes
managed by the Educational Multicentre of the Municipality of Modena (MEMO). These activities are aimed
at pre-school, primary and secondary schools. All programmes were very well attended by educational insti-
tutions and young students. They include the Museum of Zoology and Comparative Anatomy, the Museum
of Palaeobiology, the Botanical Garden and the Gemma Museum, among others. The Fantastic World of
Insects, Homo sapiens and the Time Line, the Exploration of Geometrical Transformations, the Journey into
the Cell, the Human Body, or the Discovery of DNA are among the many possible journeys for the young and
very young guests of museum workshops.
