                  Unimore digital transformation strategy

To comply with the Digital Agenda defined by the European Commission and rise to the level of ICT bench-
marking among European countries, Italy has implemented a Digital Transition Plan for the Public Adminis-
tration, which has resulted in the development of a series of digital identity systems - including SPID, CIE,
CNS, PagoPa and others, as well as on the organisational level in the strengthening and establishment of
dedicated agencies and departments. Although still below the European benchmark, Italy has thus progres-
sively improved its performance in the DESI (Digital Economy and Society Index), partly reducing its digital
                  divide.
In line with European and national policies, Unimore has developed a digitalisation strategy described in the
                  document University Digital Transition Plan.
The governance model of the Digital Transition envisages the appointment of a University Digital Transition
Manager (DTM), identified as Ms Paola Michelini, and of an Executive Office to support the DTM, corre-
sponding to the Information Systems Department.
A digital training plan has also been prepared for the University’s technical-administrative staff.
In the area of digital services, the Unimore App was recently published on the Android and Apple stores,
providing students with the main functions for managing their university career, as well as the virtual badge
with the dual function of visual recognition and computerised identification for access to university premises
                  via QR code.
The Plan also envisages the enhancement of the University website, the implementation of a new Content
Management System (CMS), the integration of the CIE digital identity into the identity management system,
in addition to the SPID credentials already in place, and the use of the regional Lepida Data Centre “Modena
Innovation Hub”, which already has active Unimore laboratories linked to the “Modena Automotive Smart
Area - MASA”, “Cyber Security Academy” and “Big-Data in digital health” projects.

Il benchmarking ICT fra paesi europei, realizzato attraverso l’indice Digital Economy and Society Index
(DESI), caratterizzato da quattro assi principali, capitale umano, connettività, integrazione delle tecnologie

digitali ovvero trasformazione digitale delle imprese e servizi pubblici digitali, ha evidenziato grandi differen-
