Paths for Guidance and Soft Skills (PCTO) with schools: latest initiatives and projects for the future.

The actions provided for in the University Strategic Plan 2020-2025 include the enhancement of guidance
for incoming students, in order to make it more widespread and effective, and ensure students a full aware-
ness of the paths offered by the different study programmes. An important consolidated activity is Unimore
Orienta, the open day aimed at presenting the training offer of the University. This year, the initiative will
take place on 22 February both in person and in streaming: people can register from 1 February 2022 High
school 4th and 5th year students have long been offered the opportunity to carry out a short period of train-
ing in the laboratories and facilities of Unimore in order to acquire disciplinary skills, strengthen soft skills
and receive a guidance for the path of study through direct experience of the university world. During 2021,
in spite of the difficulties caused by the pandemic context, 80 paths were carried out which, year by year,
allowed more than 1500 students of the fifth year, and some of the fourth year, to get in direct contact with
the universityworld . Since 2016, over 4,000 students have had the opportunity to interact directly with the
University. This type of activity is planned to be implemented in 2022.
