Orientamento peer to peer: un progetto innovativo

Peer-to-peer guidance: an innovative project of the Bachelor’s Degree in Contemporary History and
                  Cultures

The “Peer-to-peer guidance” project has been running since AY 2021/22 in the three-year degree pro-
gramme in Contemporary History and Cultures, coordinated by Prof. Elisa Rossi, and has involved 18 high-
school classes to date. The activity consists of organising a calendar of conversations between students
attending different courses in the third year of Contemporary History and Cultures (first semester) or the
second/third year (second semester) and students in the fifth (or fourth) year of high school. During these
meetings, lasting approximately 50-60 minutes and held during class times in the upper classes, and which
can also be used by Unimore lecturers to assess their own students, Unimore students who have made
themselves available illustrate the contents of the courses they have attended and/or dwell on specific top-
ics covered in the courses themselves. As part of each meeting, the university students then engage in a
dialogue with the audience of girls and boys connected by the classes under the supervision of their respec-
tive lecturers, based on the topics discussed. The project intends to test an innovative mode of guidance
practice, which goes beyond the traditional descriptive presentation of study paths and individual courses,
and also the simple direct enjoyment by high school students of moments of university teaching. “Peer-
to-peer guidance” represents a great opportunity of knowledge for high school students and an in-depth
personal growth for university students participating in the project.
