Mantova e Unimore: nuove sinergie in campo

Mantua and Unimore: new synergies in the field for young people
Since the launch of the Degree Programme in Computer Engineering in Mantua, numerous activities have
been implemented by Unimore in collaboration with local organisations and companies to help the younger
generations and their guidance to study and work. One of the most significant projects seeing its second
edition in the Mantua area this year is the Ragazze Digitali (Digital Girls) summer camp. The project, which
aims to combat the gender gap in the field of IT and digital technology, is dedicated to female students in
their third and fourth year of high school. This year it sees the debut of a further guidance initiative of an in-
novative nature, born of the collaboration between Unimore and Rete EuGenio, a network of six private com-
panies in the Mantua area. The initiative addresses the need for greater collaboration between universities
and business in guidance activities. Since 2020, Unimore, in the context of the project “Mantova: Laborato-
rio territoriale diffuso per l’innovazione e l’occupabilità” (Mantua: diffuse territorial laboratory for innovation
and employability), has been promoting and organising hackathons aimed at students and young graduates
and developers. An initial hackathon was held in February with the aim of identifying creative solutions in
the fields of Internet of Things, Digital Twins, Smart City and virtual environments. The second hackathon
will be held in September and will focus on the theme of sustainability. The guests will be international and
local companies, who will provide their expertise and professionalism to support the teams of participants in
developing their proposals. Presentations of the projects carried out by the groups will kick off the European
Research Night event in Mantua.
