Unimore is among the universities promoting the first PhD of national interest in Peace Studies

On the initiative of the Network of Italian Universities for Peace, the Research Doctorate of National Interest
in Peace Studies, the first in Italy and in Europe, has been launched: the project sees Unimore among the
proposers and directly involved in the “Peace Education and Migration” curriculum. The RUniPace Network
has inspired its founding values, its interdisciplinary planning, its constructive interaction between univer-
sities and between the university world and Italian society, in consideration of the founding values of the
universities that are part of it and of the CRUI that brings them together. Inspired by universal values and the
objectives of sustainable development, the PhD programme focuses on the themes of conflict and peace,
contributing significantly to the construction of a more equitable and peaceful society through advanced re-
search and the practical application of the skills to be acquired through 10 training curricula. The Unimore-
based curriculum offers an interdisciplinary perspective that brings together the themes of peace education
and the link between peace and migration phenomena.
