Unimore’s 850th anniversary celebrations open with an event dedicated to Bernardino Ramazzini

The free public meeting ‘From Bernardino Ramazzini to the present and the future - a topical message on
Health, Safety at Work and the Environment’ will open the celebrations of Unimore’s 830th anniversary. The
purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the legacy left by this great master of medicine, today recognised
as the founder and father of occupational medicine, and to stimulate public discussion on the present and
future of the relationship between work and health. The meeting will be moderated by Prof. Roberto Lucchini
(Occupational Medicine Unimore and Florida International University) and Prof. Alberto Modenese (Occupa-
tional Medicine Unimore), and will include a series of historical speeches, a round table and a public debate
that will provide space for reflections on safety and health in the workplace and in the environment from civil
society, prompted by questions from students, citizens and workers. The appointment is on 23 October, from
2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Church of San Carlo in Modena, streaming on www.tv.unimore.it.
