As we approach International Women’s Rights Day, FocusUnimore provides insights both by sharing analyses
and activities carried out within the University on gender equality and by providing information on projects
and initiatives also promoted in collaboration with other institutions and associations in the areas where
our University is located. The OECD Report “Joining Forces for Gender Equality: What is Holding us Back?”
(OECD, 2023) shows that, despite some progress, gender inequalities and obstacles to women’s full partici-
pation in most social and economic spheres still persist, the gender gaps observed in education, employ-
ment, entrepreneurship and public life lead to missed opportunities for inclusive job creation, growth and
innovation, ultimately affecting the prosperity of the entire economy. In this editorial, Prof. Tindara Addabbo,
