New projects: Unimore looks ahead to the future
The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia has undertaken a new strategic action to strengthen research
and development, allocating additional resources for the recruitment of lecturers and researchers in order
to promote projects of strategic importance. This initiative aims to enhance the skills and capabilities of the
university’s research teams in order to gain new knowledge and promote innovation in various fields.
The selected projects involve research teams from at least two departments and focus on strategic areas
such as digital, health and sustainability. For example, one of the projects concerns the innovation of
business models and sustainable consumption practices for environmental protection and the reduction of
inequalities. Another project focuses on technology transfer and academic entrepreneurship, examining
how university knowledge can be transferred to the market for the development of new products and
services.
Other projects concern the analysis of the needs of public administration and the Third Sector for the
development of innovative policies, the integration of biomedical and engineering expertise for the
development of tools and materials for personalised and predictive medicine, the design of sustainable
materials through the use of advanced computational approaches, and the creation of a centre for clinical
trials for new drugs.
These projects reflect the broad scope and multidisciplinary nature of research at the University of Modena
and Reggio Emilia. The aim is to strengthen the University's commitment to the promotion of quality
research and to contribute to the growth and well-being of the academic community and society as a
whole. The University is committed to maintaining and strengthening its role as a centre of excellence at
national and international level.
