Gender*MoRe Bookclub: participatory planning experiments at the Gender*MoRe Centre

The Gender*MoRe Centre is a new reality within the Unimore Library System. The project envisages the set-
ting up of a digital library with specialised literature dedicated to gender bias in scientific communication
and technological innovation, the launch of quantitative and qualitative analyses on the scientific production
of Unimore authors through a gender perspective, and it also envisages the opening of the Centre’s physi-
cal spaces and its collection to all citizens, and the implementation of third mission and public engagement
initiatives. The inauguration will take place at the beginning of the new year. In the meantime, the creation of a
participatory planning team for a young adult reading group dedicated to the 15-25 age category has already
begun. This article describes both the steps and the goals of this interesting project. Gender*MoRe is part of
the Third Mission activities of the Library System and responds to the guidelines of Unimore as reported in
its strategic plans and in particular in the Gender Equality Plan, so much so that the Gender*MoRe project
has been reported in this year’s Positive Action Plan. The project also contributes to the achievement of the
sustainability goals of the UN 2030 Agenda.
