Global Woman’s Breakfast 2025

GLOBAL WOMEN’S BREAKFAST 2025
Unimore participated for the second consecutive year in the GLOBAL WOMEN’S BREAKFAST 2025 initiative,
organised by IUPAC. The event, sponsored by the INSTM Consortium of Florence, took place in conjunction
with the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, aiming to promote equality and equity in sci-
ence, particularly within STEM fields. Despite progress in inclusion and gender equality, the issue of female
underrepresentation persists. During the event, the Gender*More Documentation Centre was introduced,
along with posters created by students and doctoral candidates, which will remain on display until March.
The organisers emphasised the importance of building an active network to overcome gender barriers in
science, concluding the event with an invitation to participate in an anonymous survey on gender issues, the
results of which will be presented in 2026.
