        PNRR del Dipartimento Smechimai






















                  Health, Wellbeing and Archaeological Heritage: the PRIN PNRR of the Smechimai Department


                  The PRIN 2022 project with principal investigator from Unimore’s Department of Medical and Surgical, Ma-
                  ternal, Child and Adult Sciences, funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, is coordinated by
                  Prof. Elisabetta Genovese and aims to promote the cognitive, physical and sensory accessibility of archaeo-
                  logical heritage. The TOUCHWELL project (Archaeological Museum Collections for People’s Care Welfare
                  and Wellbeing), aims to develop knowledge, technologies and tools to promote the cognitive, physical and
                  sensory accessibility of archaeological heritage within a cultural welfare system, providing data on the
                  impacts that culture has on the welfare and health of people and societies. As demonstrated in the World
                  Health Organisation’s Health evidence network synthesis report 67, culture, the arts and cultural heritage
                  play an important role in promoting health and well-being, social inclusion, overcoming social inequalities
                  and access to care. The document gives a clear picture of the impacts of culture on people’s lives.
