Riforma del settore dei giochi pubblici: in corso
presso Unimore ricerche e iniziative di contrasto al
gioco patologico
The reform of the public gaming sector: research and initiatives to combat pathological gaming are
being carried out at Unimore
There are many initiatives, mainly aimed at schools, carried out by the CRID - Research Centre on Discrimi-
nation and Vulnerability and the Marco Biagi Foundation within the framework of the Bando Legalità (Notice
of Legality) of the Municipality of Modena or the University’s participation in the Game Science Research
Centre, an inter-university research centre set up to develop the formative, social and educational potential
of gaming. On 28 May, the seminar Reorganisation of the gaming sector, Act I: the new decree on remote
gaming was held at the Marco Biagi Foundation, in which an initial analysis of the regulation of online gam-
ing and betting collection was carried out. The central element of the discussion was the assessment of
the effectiveness of the measures introduced by the new legislation to prevent the rampant phenomenon of
pathological gambling, which has been growing steadily for years.
