Unimore impegnata in un gruppo
di lavoro europeo sulla promozione
dell’inclusione in ambito formativo
Unimore engaged in a European working group on promoting inclusion in training
Along with 7 other European universities, Unimore participated in the work group “Promoting equity and inclu-
sion in Learning and Teaching” promoted by the European University Association (EUA).
Three main challenges emerged.
The lack of concrete activities related to equity and inclusion in many institutions, which requires the imple-
mentation of the actions proposed by the strategic plans. There is a need to foster student awareness on
inclusion policies.
A second aspect is the “Digital Poverty” / Digital Inclusion: Italy shows some difficulties due to the “digital
divide”, that is why the University has tried to offset by making available to students a thousand laptops and
a thousand 4G modems. The third challenge concerns the training of teachers on topics related to inclusion
and equity, reflecting on what are the opportunities offered by digital tools, in order to use them effectively in
teaching.
The solutions that have emerged are different and at different levels. Within the group, the best practices
implemented in the universities were collected and discussed, and in parallel with the participation in the EUA
working group, work continued within the University for the creation of a working group on training teachers
to the teaching activity, which will take into account the directions outlined.
