Inclusione e ruolo del tutorato
Inclusion and role of tutoring
One of the main tasks of the Unimore Disability Service is to support the study activities of students with
disabilities and SLD. This activity takes place through the figure of the tutor, a university student, with a good
average of school marks, who has attended a specific training course and has applied to perform the activity
of tutor by filling in the ERGO Call for Benefit Applications. The student can carries out the tutoring activity for
a maximum of 200 hours p.a.
There are two types of tutors: the “peer tutor”, a degree programme mate of the student with disabilities
or SLD who helps him in everyday activities such as finding of teaching materials, and the “teaching tutor”,
that is, a student enrolled in subsequent years of the same degree programme, who can provide support in
preparing the exams.
Tutors are trained with dedicated courses, provided by Unimore both in Reggio Emilia and in Modena, with
a final exam. The activity allows students to obtain from 1 to 3 university credits depending on the degree
programme they belong to.
